Jennifer Whittington, M.D., Ph,D., FACS, FSSO, is board-certified in general surgery and complex general surgical oncology. She pursued a career in medicine after caring for family members with cancer and recognizing the critical need for accessible, high-quality surgical cancer care in central Appalachia.
Dr. Whittington takes a multidisciplinary, holistic approach to cancer care, emphasizing nutritional support, prehabilitation, and strong ancillary services before and after surgery.
She has extensive expertise in robotic surgical techniques and specializes in treating cancers of the pancreas, liver, stomach, colon, and rectum, as well as melanoma and sarcoma. She also offers regional therapies, including heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) and hepatic artery infusion (HAI).
