Renee Barlow is a family nurse practitioner with more than 25 years of experience as a registered nurse. Motivated by a desire to provide high-quality, comprehensive care, she decided to advance her education, become a nurse practitioner and ultimately earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice. Her goal is to educate and empower patients by helping them understand their conditions and treatment options.
An attentive listener, Renee values the time she spends getting to know her patients personally. She believes building strong relationships helps her get to the root of a diagnosis and provide more effective care. She loves witnessing the positive changes that result from working collaboratively with her patients to improve their health and well-being.
Renee’s extensive clinical background also fuels her passion for teaching. She enjoys sharing her experiences with both students and patients, believing education is a key part of quality care. In her current role, she feels fortunate to have the best of both worlds — the opportunity to teach and to practice medicine.
She encourages prospective patients to visit the Johnson City Community Health Center and experience firsthand the collaborative, patient-centered care her team provides. Renee is confident they will be pleased with the compassionate and skilled support offered by the entire care team.
Outside of work, Renee has been married for more than 30 years and is the proud mother of three children and grandmother of three. She and her family enjoy spending quality time together. She and her husband also love to travel, hike and simply enjoy each other’s company. In her free time, Renee enjoys baking and experimenting with new recipes.
