Dr. Ryan Richardson believes in open and honest communication, with a strong emphasis on improving patients’ understanding of their health conditions and translating complex medical issues into clear, accessible language. He views his patients as an extension of his own family, grounded in a bond of trust and honesty, and strives to provide the same level of dedication and compassion he would want for his own family.

Dr. Richardson paired his scientific curiosity with a commitment to serving others and collaborating to improve their lives through health care. Believing everyone deserves to understand their health and use that to enrich their lives, his patient care approach is honest and straightforward.

A native of Southwest Virginia, he has long felt connected to the region he considers home. He chose ETSU Health for his Family Medicine residency not only for its outstanding education, but also for its strong sense of family and commitment to compassionate care for patients and staff. Dr. Richardson has long been drawn to academic health care and is excited about the opportunity to join ETSU Health and continue providing high-quality patient care while helping educate the next generation of physicians.
